Epoxy resin can be used for a wide variety of purposes and requires two suitable components to be mixed together. After mixing the resin and the hardener together, a chemical reaction is set in motion, which usually takes hours. The result is that the resin is transformed from a liquid to a solid state and heat is released as a residual product. The ratio of the components is usually 1:1 or 1:2, which helps the resin to harden without creating excessive stress.
